Kerry Conran (director of the upcoming Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow) has confirmed that he will next be directing an adaptation of A Princess of Mars. If Sky Captain does well (I'm not sure it will), and A Princess of Mars does get made and succeeds, we may just see a return of the pulp adventure that has been missing from cinema for decades! Noir was resurrected as 'neo-noir' in the 90s, the Western doesn't need to be resurrected (seriously, that genre is exhausted), and now pulp adventures may see a comeback. Next up: silent comedies.
