Silly Aquaman

There's a rumor floating around that DC wants the upcoming Aquaman film "to be a goofy screwball comedy. Their thought was, 'since he's such a stupid character let's play that up.'" It doesn't sound like a bad idea, per se, but the strength of comedies is that they can make a lot of money on little budget, and you can't make a small-budget Aquaman film. That being said, Men in Black succeeded. But, I can't imagine anyone making a true screwball comedy today, as the entire genre was birthed by the overly restrictive, censorial Code of 1934, which certainly doesn't exist today.
